Gretchen Rehm Nominated for the Women Working in Wealth Award
I am so grateful to announce that I have been nominated by Lincoln Investment for this year’s Women Working in Wealth Award from the American College Center for Women in Financial Services!
Every year, this award celebrates women in the financial industry who work hard to advance themselves and other women in our industry through mentorship, sponsorship, and advocacy. According to the organization, “each award recipient has concrete examples of how she removed obstacles, created allies, and executed novel solutions to gender parity.” While I didn’t win, it’s an honor to be nominated for this award. I am so thankful!
For me, the financial services industry is more than just a job. This career has allowed me to improve the lives of the families in my community, both through the work I do one-on-one with my clients and through the mentorship opportunities I am provided. Giving back to other women in this industry is one of my greatest joys!
In the over 20 years that I’ve been in this field, I’ve seen a shift in the way wealth and financial management is handled within the American household. In more families across the nation, women are taking control of their families’ financial situations. This shift in the community requires a shift in the industry as well. While this is still a male-dominated industry, I am proud of the steps women are taking to become a larger part of it.
With the exception of my incredible husband, Reegan, our firm is made up entirely of women. In addition to our internal team, we partner with an all-female marketing firm, female attorneys, CPAs, and bankers. I also attend the Women’s Impact Network, WIN, monthly for business planning and networking.
Many of you know Maddie Landsteiner of our office. Since Maddie started working for Rehm Financial as a college intern many years ago, we have spent hours working side by side and are looking forward to many more years of growing the business together. Being able to mentor Maddie to become a heavy hitter in the financial services industry is one of the best parts of my job! I truly believe that if we give women more opportunities in life, everything will come full circle.
I started this business at the young age of 22 with nothing but my licenses and unfamiliar territory. At that time, I was given nothing and I knew nothing. Through door-knocking, cold calling, and the sheer will to succeed and help better my community, I have built a team of women who are truly making a difference in our community. I am proud of the work that we do and am honored to be considered for the Women Working in Wealth award.
The awards will be presented at the Women Working in Wealth Summit & Award Ceremony in New York City on March 8, 2023. To learn more about this award and the organization, please click here.
