Four Fun Holiday Cocktail Recipes

You don’t have to go to the bar down the street to try the festive flair of tasty cocktails (or mocktails) this Christmas season! Stay cozy and save money by making your own at home. Whether you’re aiming to wow your co-workers at the office Christmas party, or simply add some festivity to your family dinner, we’ve got you covered with these four delicious drinks that will be sure to impress.

Holiday Punch

If you’re making a batch for a party or hoping to serve a crowd, this is a great way to mix it ahead of time and then let guests serve themselves. Plus, have you really ever dusted off that punch bowl you got as a wedding gift?

Ingredients:

One 8-pound bag of ice

2 bottles of a dry champagne (like a prosecco)

2L bottle of diet Ginger Ale

40 oz. bottle of cranberry juice (NOT cocktail)

20 oz. of apple cider

12 oz. of spiced rum

Oranges and cranberries to garnish

Directions:

Mix all liquids and ice into a large punch bowl. Ladle into cups to serve. Garnish with an orange wedge. Float a few real cranberries.

A Peppermint Mule

A refreshing zip of peppermint just screams “Christmas” and combining it with the famous “mule” trend means you really can’t miss it. Plus, who can say no to those adorable copper mugs?

Ingredients:

2 oz. vodka

1 oz. peppermint schnapps

½ a lime

4 oz. of ginger beer

Candy canes

Fresh mint leaves

Crushed ice

Directions:

  1. Fill each copper mug with crushed ice.

  2. Pour vodka, schnapps over the ice.

  3. Add a squeeze of lime juice.

  4. Top cup with the ginger beer.

  5. Garnish with a candy cane (crushed over ice or stuck in as a stir stick).

Chocolate Kiss Martini

Christmas is about indulging, right? You can never go wrong with chocolate! Try this sweet treat, and call it a dessert if it makes you feel better about the calories!

Ingredients:

2.5 oz. of chocolate liquor (try Godiva)

1 oz. of coffee liquor

½ oz. of heavy cream

2 drops of chocolate bitters

Colored sugar

Chocolate syrup

Directions:

  1. Rim your class in chocolate syrup and then colored sugar.

  2. Add ice to a mixing shaker.

  3. In a mixing shaker, mix both liquors, cream, and bitters.

  4. Shake that mixer

  5. Pour into glass, sifting out ice.

The Hot Toddy

As you duck back indoors from sledding or finish up that community caroling, a hot beverage can go a long way in warming you back up. If you’re a traditionalist, why not try your hand at a hot toddy? Consider it like a cuppa tea… with a kick.

Ingredients:

1.5 oz. of whiskey, brandy, OR rum

1 T. honey

½ oz. lemon juice

1 c. of hot water (8 oz.)

Cinnamon stick

Star anise

Directions:

  1. Combine dark liquor, honey, and juice into a mug.

  2. Pour hot water over the mixture.

  3. Garnish with a stick/star.

  4. Defrost yourself!

No matter how you celebrate the holiday season, take some time out to enjoy it. Everyone risks falling into the hustle and bustle, the lengthy to-do lists, and the travels back and forth. But, at the end of the day, it is a season designed for friends and family. Spend it with the ones you love!

If you choose to try out some of our holiday cocktails, please do so safely. Plan ahead with a designated driver who is not drinking, prepare to call a driving service, or simply stay home, safe and sound. Never drink and drive, my friends! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
